Student Visas Canceled by Australia

February 8th, 2012

China Visa, Chinese Visa, China Visa Services

Over fifteen thousand student visas of foreign nationals who have been given permission to travel to the country of Australia have been rescinded due to those visa applications containing incorrect information.  The number of visas that were cancelled has increased by 37% versus the year previous.  Almost four thousand students may be deported from Australia because they have failed their classes or have been missing from school and over two thousand more visas for students were canceled because they quit their original courses and had simply started to work illegally in the country or were not doing anything at all.

While Indians had been one of the hardest hit grooves of people studying in the country for having visas that were cancelled, people in the country on a China visa were much less likely to be deported because most Chinese students were dutifully studying a trade and were still in school.  As of the middle of the year, over three hundred thousand students were studying in Australia who were from another country.

The report was recently released regarding the number of students from various foreign countries that were currently studying in Australia and it seems that 20% of all students who were studying on a visa in the country were Chinese.  Around 15% of the students were from India.  Most of the students who came to Australia for study were sent to schools in New South Wales and Victoria.  The guidelines for allowing students into the country as foreigners included being enrolled in at least one course and proof that they could afford tuition.
