Gift for Mom: Price is not Preciousness
March 26th, 2011
One golden rule that is often forgotten every time an individual goes out to shop for a mother’s day gift is that price does not always correspond to preciousness. Such a mindset actually is the product of a consumerist culture, where one thing’s value is measured not on its practical or sentimental worth but on whatever is written on its price tag. Actually, mothers, more than anyone else, would not mind about the monetary worth of a gift. Instead, they think that the best mothers day gifts ideas are those that really come from the heart, ones that may not even cost a dollar but would still be priceless. Any child who wishes to please his or her mom should therefore think of a gift not according to what their credit card or wallet says but according to what their hearts whisper.
Walk around the mall or a school fair and find out the price of the items being sold in mothers day stalls. It is quite obvious that the items there are actually very cheap. The stall-owners naturally made sure that it is so not because they want to beat the competition. They know that a coffee mug with words of a child’s love for his or her mom can be as expensive as a pair of diamond earrings. In fact, it can even be more valuable even it is just bought from a mothers day stall that sells cheap gift items. A mug can say a lot; perhaps even more than a diamond can.
